Gift Ideas for Babies Under One!

Gifts for small children can be a difficult thing. Most of the time they don’t really NEED anything, but it is nice to recognize special events when it comes to babies under one year of age.

Here are a few guidelines I like to follow when picking out gifts:

  • gifts that have great play value – so it’s not ditched by dinnertime
  • gifts that have a long play life and educational elements so you get the most bang for your buck

You can also never go wrong with buying staple items to help momma out. For example, diapers, wipes, gift cards, etc.

Musical toys! Musical toys can be a great item for babies. Babies typically get interested in sounds from the get go. So not only will you be able to make sounds for them when they are a few months old, once they start exploring they will love to play with the musical toys them selves! Here is a great option for musical toys.

Sit-to-stand learning walkers are also amazing options. They are perfect for developing motor skills and getting the head start on taking those first few steps! This is the one I have

My little one has been obsessed with this Balu Organic Ball Pit. It is so fun and keeps him entertained for hours! There are so many ways to play with this ball pit and I don't have any worries about any harmful toxins coming from the plastic.

Books!! Books are the absolute perfect gift for any age. Highly recommend the ones with flaps, mirrors, or just any interactive book. Perfect for little ones! Bonus points if it's a board book. Board book = smaller chance of baby ripping it apart! I absolutely love this one

Bring it back to the basics with some good stack cups. It doesn't matter how many toys you have babies always seem to go with the basics. I found this out when a few empty solo cups kept my little one entertained for over an hour!

PlanToysPoundingBench2

Another fun one is this Pounding Bench! It is perfect for fine tuning those motor skills. Made to help your child develop both physically and cognitively, your little one can use the rounded wooden mallet to gently and purposefully hammer the pegs to the other side, then flip the bench and start the fun all over again!

My last recommendation is this Janod Toy Caterpillar Ball Track. This one has also been another one of my sons favorites! On this toy, the three balls pass through the sun and the clouds, and then through the clear tunnel to ring the little bell, ending in the garden to form a friendly purple caterpillar!

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!
